The secret to the Salty Passion's success is its internal balance. Unlike heavy, lifeless lures, the 115F features a precision-weighted ABS chamber that creates a high-pitch wobble and erratic darting action. We chose this design specifically because it triggers reaction strikes from educated fish. While it features reinforced anchor points capable of landing 20kg+ GTs, the lack of a heavy through-wire allows the lure to float slower and twitch sharper—giving you the finesse presentation needed to fool the wisest predators.

DEADLY FROM THE REEF TO THE BLUE

Versatility is the hallmark of a great lure. While the Salty Passion is engineered as a shallow runner (0.6m - 1m) to glide over jagged coral flats without snagging, that same top-column action makes it a weapon in open water. Pelagic species like Tuna, Wahoo, and Spanish Mackerel hunt by looking up, using the surface to trap their prey. The Salty Passion stays right in that "kill zone," mimicking a panicked baitfish stranded near the top. Whether you are grinding over 1 meter of reef water or casting into a 1000m deep bait ball, this lure gets eaten.

Tested Where It Counts

Every lure in the Cavy Fishing lineup has to earn its stripes, and the Salty Passion is no exception. Before we agreed to collaborate with the brand, these lures were put through the wringer by Adam Cavanagh on the sharpest limestone ledges and wildest reef flats in the Indo-Pacific. We didn't test them in a swimming pool; we tested them against 20kg GTs, angry Coral Trout, and razor-sharp coral bommies. If it can survive the punishment of a remote island expedition, it can handle anything you throw at it at your local ledge.

This is the Secret Salty Sauce. A slow-floating, erratic actioned lure that hangs in the strike zones long enough to get crushed! What depth does it swim?

It is a true shallow runner, sitting comfortably in the 2ft - 3ft (0.6m - 1m) range, making it perfect for fishing over shallow coral flats without snagging.
Best retrieve style?

Versatility is key. Slow roll it for Barramundi and Mangrove Jack, or burn and twitch it aggressively for GTs and Mackerel.
Does the Salty Passion come pre-rigged?

Yes the Salty Passion comes with extra strong upgraded BKK hooks and split rings to assist with landing your catch of a lifetime!
Is this lure built for big fish?

Absolutely. The Salty Passion 115F is engineered with Thick-Wall ABS and Reinforced Anchor Points. While we opted against a heavy through-wire to maximize the erratic darting action (which gets the bite), the internal construction is tested to withstand the drag pressures required for GTs, Kingfish, and Tuna on PE 2-4 tackle.
Why didn't you through-wire it?

Wire is heavy. To get the specific "slow-float" and sensitive twitch response that triggers finicky fish, we needed to shed the internal weight. We chose superior action over dead weight, because a lure that doesn't swim right doesn't get eaten.
